Even It Up! is serious about its Vision, so we have started campaigning in areas that need improvement. On this page, you will find our list of current campaigns, as well as outcomes.
We need your help so we can start shifting the balance for jobseekers. Please sign the petition or send an email. Every little action helps.
If real estate, the diet industry and the media can be regulated, why not recruitment?
The recruitment industry operates on a largely unregulated basis in Australia. The nearest recruitment comes to any sort of accountability is via the RCSA, which is considered by good recruiters (there are some!) as a toothless tiger, and quite ineffective.
It is time for the government to hold an inquiry into the recruitment industry, which seems to be more about money than the people it supposed to be helping.
Unfortunately, despite having written to (and called) a number of politicians (both state and federal), the Even It Up! call for regulation has been ignored.
We now urge you to write to your Federal MP and let him or her know that it is time for an investigation to be launched and action to be taken. You can cut and paste the contents our blog post if you aren't sure what to write.
A list of Federal MPs by electorate is available here. If you aren't sure who your MP is, go here first.
Coming soon! We will be organising an online petition for those of you who are too shy to write to your MP.
Outcome #1 Get rid of Selection Criteria for Government Positions resulted in Even It Up! receiving a letter from Minister Weatherill, a copy of which is listed below. From our perspective, we did not really receive a satisfactory answer from the minister.
You can still sign the Even It Up! petition by clicking here.
Note! The site mentioned in the letter has been decommissioned!

Outcome #2 The Sack Your Recruitment Company campaign resulted in an attack from the RCSA regarding our Jobseeker Experience Survey. Classic battle tactic: attack is the best defence! The funny thing was that this backfired: most recruiters then criticised the RCSA! You'll have to register to access the article, but it's worth it!
