Even It Up!

Shifting the balance for jobseekers

FAQs

Our visitors ask a number of questions about Even It Up!  If you have a question that isn't addressed here, please email us.

How does Even It Up! make money?

The simple answer is: we don't.  Even It Up! is a community service provided by mosaic communication and Diane Lee.  We would like to monetise it as some point in the future, but we are still investigating ways of doing this.  In the meantime, please feel free to make a donation (Make a Donation button is on the right).  It will be greatly appreciated.

We also have consulting services that can be utilised by organisations who are interested in improving their employer brand.

Google ads have also been added to the site. So click, and we get paid!

Why does it take so long for the information I submit to The Lowdown to be uploaded?

Even It Up! is staffed by one (part-time) volunteer.  The uploads get done when that person has time, which may only be every couple of weeks.  If you'd like to volunteer for Even It Up! we have plenty that you could do, so email us!

Why is Even It Up! so negative?

Even It Up! relies on content that is submitted from other jobseekers.  If the majority of experiences are negative, well, that is what is uploaded.  We don't sugar coat it.   There's a saying that we like that relates to this: you can put as many candles as you like on a pile of crap, and it still doesn't make it a birthday cake!

Isn't Even It Up! just a whole bunch of people whinging because they didn't get the job they wanted?

Some visitors to the site see it that way (usually recruitment company personnel!).  However, what we have found is there a a whole bunch of people who have had similar experiences, regardless of the types of jobs they've applied for.  That tells us that there is something wrong with the system, and it need to be fixed.

What happened to the Feedback and Newsroom pages?

Our web stats showed us that visitors weren't visiting them.  They are still on the site, we've just hidden them from the navigation menu.  You can still access the Feedback page here, and the Newsroom page here.
